Growing up on a farm taught me an appreciation for the healing power of the outdoors long before it became instagram famous. From running barefoot and riding horses bareback to plucking oranges off the trees and biting into pure sugar cane as my afternoon snack, I lived al fresco! The best meals were simple, seasonal, and made with ingredients that spoke for themselves. We couldn’t always make everything fresh from the farm. So, every morning my mom would consistently pour me a cup of store bought orange juice. I never drank it - I couldn’t understand why packaged juices didn’t taste like the oranges from our tree.  Looking back, that's where the foundation for Lumi truly began. Today, I can proudly say every Lumi product tastes like it came straight from the farm. 

Decades later, while visiting Australia, I experienced a culture that celebrated fresh produce and everyday wellness. Healthy eating wasn't treated like a trend—it was simply a way of life. That experience completely changed how I thought about food and planted the first seed for what Lumi would eventually become.

Like many great ideas, Lumi started small. Our first test kitchen became the place where recipes were tested, refined, and perfected. Every juice was crafted with one goal in mind: create something delicious enough that healthy habits become something people actually enjoy.

A test kitchen dream grew within weeks into a fully integrated production space. Standing inside an empty production space, it wasn't difficult to imagine what it could become. It represented possibility, countless hours of work ahead, and a commitment to building something that would help people live healthier lives. 

One of the biggest milestones in our journey was investing in High Pressure Processing (HPP). It allowed us to preserve the freshness, taste, and nutrients of our juices naturally—without relying on preservatives or compromising quality. It was a huge leap, but one that perfectly reflected what Lumi stands for: delivering real food the way nature intended - no shortcuts.

No business is built alone. Friends believed in Lumi before it had products, customers, or recognition. They encouraged every idea, celebrated every milestone, helped make juice and encouraged others to believe in the LUMI life of healthy living.
